The Law of Attraction

(Excerpted from How To Turn Your Mind Into A Magic Wand by Ande Waggener)

The universe may be a mystery in many ways, but we have established some constants about it.  One of those things is that it is made up of energy.

We’ve also established some constants about energy.

Energy is a vibration.  A vibration is a series of waves.  Whether the vibration is low or high depends on the speed of the waves.

Fast waves=high vibration.  Slow waves=low vibration.

When it comes to vibrations, like attracts like.

This is different than the way things work in the magnetic world; for magnetic energy, opposites attract.

This is why some people get confused about law of attraction terminology.  Many law of attraction teachers talk about magnetizing your wants into your life.

Although it’s a great image, it’s not accurate.  The energetic process of the law of attraction is not magnetic, it’s vibrational.

Everything is energy…everything.  Even your thoughts are energy.  Your feelings are energy.

So every time you have a thought or a feeling, you send out an energetic vibration.  That vibration will pull to it like vibrations.

High vibrational thoughts and feelings  (i.e., positive thoughts about what you want and feelings like love, gratitude, enthusiasm, etc.) match with positive experiences.

The more you think about something, the more you get of whatever it is you’re thinking about.  The more you have a feeling, the more situations you’ll have in your life to perpetuate that feeling.

Here are some examples of what your thoughts bring you (these examples are real life examples—I changed the names of the second and third examples to protect privacy):

When I was a teen, I was slender.  I’m 5’ 7”, and I weighed about 123 pounds.  I wore a size 7.  I thought I was fat.  I was constantly worried that my butt was too big, my waist too wide.  I constantly dieted in an attempt to be thinner.  My primary thought was, “I don’t want to be fat.”  By the time I reached my late 30’s, I was 100 pounds overweight.

Dina had to drive 1 ½ hours each way to a part time job.  She always drove home after dark.  The highway went through heavily treed areas, and Dina often worried that a deer might run out in front of her.  Just a few weeks after she started the job, on her way home, Dina hit a deer.

May was terrified of getting cancer.  From the time she was a child, her nightly prayers included, “Please don’t let me get cancer.”  Every time she had an ache or a pain, she worried that it was cancer.  May was 41 years old when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  She died a year later.

The same process is at work with your feelings.  Here are some examples:

I used to suffer from severe depression.  As long as I was in depression, depressing experiences happened to me.  So I remained depressed.

Clara was frustrated with her job.  The more frustrated she became, the worse things got at work.

Shelly was scared about her financial future.  She was getting deeper and deeper in debt, and she was terrified about losing her house.  Things started breaking down that she had to replace, so went even deeper into debt.  Eventually, she had to put her house on the market so she wouldn’t go bankrupt.

Do you see why you need to change the way you’re feeling if you’re feeling bad?

The worse you feel, the worse your life will get because of the way energy works.  Your bad feelings are vibrations that match bad experiences.

The problems you have and the failures and struggles you’ve experienced are not some kind of punishment for being a lousy person.

You’re not having “bad luck.”  You’re simply experiencing the effects of a universal law.

There’s no such thing as “good luck” either.

When wonderful things happen to you, it’s because you have attracted those things into your life by way of the vibration of your thoughts.  Whether you are conscious of it or not, when you are feeling great, you’ll experience more great things.  When you think about something you want for a long time, it will eventually appear in your life.

It must.  It’s law.

And by the way—this is not some touchy-feely, New Age law.  This is a law of physics.  Quantum physics has PROVEN that matter responds to our thoughts.  At the quantum level, everything that is observed reacts to its observation.

The law of attraction may sound and seem like magic—hence the title of my guide,  How To Turn Your Mind Into A Magic Wand:  The Real Secret To Using Mind Power To Get What You Want.  But remember, magic is usually simply physics in action—physics that you can’t readily see.  That physics is what powers the law of attraction.
